This is the home place
Ozarks Goat News prints the week. The Caboose leaves the rails when a rift opens. The Goat Maiden goes to other people’s parties. This site is the farm itself — the hill, the barn, the mist, and the people and critters who live here between adventures.
Arkatype Farms sits in fictional Arktopia County, in the Ozarks. Squarefolk use the library as a library and take the sky for weather. Cloverfolk hunt the Blue Mist. Dolly, early twenties and happier with heirloom tomatoes than with most conversations, lives in the Quonset hut with Charlotte. Her grandma Madge and grandpa Ira still keep the old white farmhouse. She funds the place by performing as the Goat Maiden. Charlotte, a black-and-white border collie, steers the rustic red Caboose through time.
They duck the caboose into wormholes and ride them backward and forward. Magickal beasts already have a home in the Dodecahedron. What the rails fetch are the ordinary ones — a barn cat, a pair of heifers, a crate of library cats — who learn to speak once they reach the clover.
“The soil smells of ancient secrets and the air hums with a quiet, waiting energy.”
